Parish Nurse

The parish nurse's ministry is shaped by Christ's mission of healing the whole person: body, mind and spirit. The role is multifaceted and includes:

• health educator
• link to community resources
• volunteer coordinator
• pastoral visitor

The Parish Nurse does not perform invasive nursing procedures or duplicate existing services. All contracts are confidential and no fees are charged.

Health and Social Assessments for Parishioner Needs

The parish nurse visits individuals, couples and families in their homes to determine what special needs the parish can assist in filling without duplicating services provided by other agencies. Referrals are often made to outside agencies. The ministry also works with families who might live a distance from elderly parents or relatives living locally.
