A wonderful and well deserved custom was begun a few years ago in the Worcester Diocese and it has spread throughout the New England Dioceses. It happens yearly in November and is showcased in the Catholic Free Press.
The main purpose of thiscustom is to thank the many volunteers who give of their time, talent and service to educate the youth of our parishes on what builds a firm foundation for their faith. These men and women share their own faith journey as they prepare week after week to give the youth the best of who they are.
In St. Mary’s parish we have more than 70 volunteers ministering as teachers and aides in the Religious Education program. We are blessed! A special thank you to those on our staff who make it all happen: Kathy Canfield, Coordinator of Grades 1 – 8, Fr. Jose and Kelly Paulina, Grades 9 & 10, and, Christine Rybacki, our religious education secretary.
We thank God for these people who minister in religious education and know God will bless them in ways they cannot even imagine.
