St. Mary After School Program exists to provide quality care for students in Kindergarten through Grade Eight following the conclusion of the school day. We are open on regularly scheduled school days from 2:30-5:30 with the exception of the last day of school.
Our program includes time for structured and unstructured play, enrichment and homework. We also encourage the children to practice independence and self-direction.
Our handbook detailing the program can be downloaded here. All parents should be familiar with this handbook.
All families with children participating on our Afterschool Program must print out and return an Emergency Contact/Registration form.
The students are dismissed to the cafeteria where attendance is taken and the students have an opportunity to socialize and have a snack.
Following snack the students are broken into smaller groups for free play, table activities or homework.
Homework is not optional for those students in Grade Two through Grade Eight. If there is no written homework the children are encouraged to review, preview or read for pleasure. Following "Homework", the children have the opportunity to participate in a variety of indoor or outdoor activities and games, depending on the weather.
A structured homework room is available for students until 4:00.
Students return to the cafeteria for table or floor games or activities. Weather permitting students may remain outside until 5:00.
For those students who need an additional snack; a light snack is provided after which students can will participate in quiet activities until they leave for the afternoon.
The program closes for the day.
