Sandy began her teaching career in 1975, in the Southbridge public school system. She taught grades 1 and 4, and was the Title I Reading Teacher in their summer school program. After taking a few years to raise her children, she began teaching at St. Mary's in 1993. She has been the 1st-grade teacher at St. Mary's since 1999.

Sandy's family includes Jim her "computer whiz" husband and their daughter and son (both graduates of St. Mary School). Her daughter graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is working in the Boston area, and her son is attending Cornell University.

"Traveling with my family and getting together with our friends are very special to me. I love being part of the activities of my family, the school and the parish. I feel blessed that I have been part of the St. Mary's family for so many years and I love sharing in the lives of the children of St. Mary School."
