If you or someone you know is interested in becoming Catholic or if you are a Catholic who would like to complete you initiation through the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist, the Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA) can help. The RCIA forms adults in the Catholic faith and prepares them for the sacraments of initiation. For additional information call Fr. Mike, Fr. Adam or Deacon Frank at the pastoral center. |

Merton Group Program -2011-2012
The Merton Group will meet for both day and evening in the Fall. All meetings are held in the Pastoral Center on the second Tuesday of the month beginning on September 13. There is no meeting in December. The program and schedules are posted here.
The day program will meet 9:30 -11:00 AM. The evening program will meet 7:00-8:30 PM. The book that will be discussed is titled "The Life You Save May Be Your Own" by Paul Elie. The supplementary reading will be “The Moviegoer" by Walker Percy.
Before the first meeting please read the first six chapters of the book by Paul Elie. Also please read the short novel by Percy.

BAKE SALE after all Masses TODAY, Sunday, Sept. 4. The Refugee Welcome Ministry Bake Sale that was planned for last Sunday was rescheduled to today because of the hurricane. Please help local families arriving from refugee camps and settling in our community by stopping by the bake table for homemade goodies and refreshing lemonade. Thank you.

May they grow in the faith that we profess in Christ Jesus.
Baptisms are celebrated on the first and third Sundays of the month at 12:30 pm. Please call the pastoral center to make arrangements for your child’s baptism. Parents who would like to have their first child baptized will be asked to participate in a Baptism Preparation session which are held on the second Monday of the month at 7:00 pm in the pastoral center.

The 2010 Family Festival - A Community Celebration!
We hope you will join us September 16-18 at the annual Family Festival. The Raffle is always one of the most anticipated parts of the festival and this year’s grand prize of $15,000 is sure to attract a lot of attention. Tickets will be available after all Sunday Masses. Additionally, there will be lots of games, rides, food and entertainment. The Festival will run as follows:
Friday: 6PM - 10PM
Saturday: Noon - 7PM
Sunday: Noon - 5PM
There is also the famous Pub Quiz on Saturday night at 8:00PM and the Pancake Breakfast Sunday morning at 8AM.

Welcome Table
If you are a new parishioner, we are very glad to welcome you to St. Mary’s. In the coming months we hope that you will take time to GET REGISTERED ... GET CONNECTED ... and GET INVOLVED. Parishioners involved in our new Welcoming Ministry are here to help you in any way we can.
To register in the parish, you may call or stop by the Pastoral Center and Kerry, the parish secretary, will help you. Kerry can provide you a Registration Form or you can download one from the Parish website: click here.
You may also register on the first Sunday of the month from 8:00 11:00 am at the WELCOMING TABLE which will be set up in the Hall. Parish Pastoral Council and parish staff members will be there to register you in the parish and welcome you to our faith community. They may be able to answer your questions or point you in the right direction. They will also have information that will introduce you to the life, activities and ministries of St. Mary’s.

Item of the Month: Soup

The Item of the Month is Soup. Over the past two weekends you have donated over 130 cans of soup! Wow! Our goal is to give one extra item to each of the 270 families that receive food from St. Anne's. |

Pick an "Apple"
Thank you for picking up "apples" last weekend. There are only 20 apples left! Remember to purchase a gift card, any amount, to a local store, such as Target or Wal-Mart. These gift cards will be used to help families purchase their child's back-to-school needs, such as sneakers or clothing. The "apples" will be collected during the weekend of September 10th and 11th. Thank you again for your support!
