SACRAMENT OF PENANCE - COME HOME TO GOD'S MERCY

Celebrate the Sacrament of Penance during the season of Lent this year:

LENTEN ALMSGIVING

Parishioners who took a CRS Ricebowl at the beginning of Lent are asked to return them next weekend on Palm Sunday. Your contributions will be divided among several charitable ministries that our parish supports, including Catholic Relief Services, St. Anne’s Human Services, Maryknoll Lay Missioners (Evan & Sue Cuthbert), St. Michel’s in Roche-a-Bateau (our sister parish in Haiti), and the Marie-Anne Center at St. Bernard’s Church. As your offering containers are filled, please return them and place them in the Ricebowl collection box in the vestibule of the church.

Easter Giving Tree

Help St. Mary’s Outreach and St. Anne’s Human Services feed the less fortunate of our community this weekend, March 20 & 21. Thank-you to all who are returning their gift cards this weekend. You may also purchase gift cards this weekend through St. Mary’s Parent Association.

PALM SUNDAY FOR CHILDREN

On Palm Sunday, March 28th, a special Children’s Procession and Liturgy of the Word will take place at the 9:00 am Mass. Children will gather with their families in the church and take part in a procession from the church to the parish hall where they will hear a children’s version of the Passion story. After this Liturgy of the Word the children will then rejoin their families in church as they usually do at the 9:00 am Mass.

EASTER FLOWERS

Honor and remember your loved ones in a special way at Easter. An envelope for Easter Flowers can be found in your monthly packet. Please write the names of your deceased family members and friends so that we can remember them at Mass throughout the Easter season. Your gifts will help to decorate our church for Holy Week and Easter.

YOUTH RETREAT WEEKENDS

Steubenville Youth Conferences offer high school aged individuals a meaningful encounter with God through the use of dynamic speakers and prayer experiences. This summer there will be two different Steubenville weekends offered to young men and women from this area. Please e-mail or speak with Fr. Adam for more information (reida@stmarysparish.org).

St. Mary’s is joining many other parishes across the Diocese of Worcester in conducting the annual Partners in Charity Appeal during the Lenten season. The Annual Partners in Charity Appeal supports 29 vital programs which comprise the charitable, educational and ministerial mission of our local church. Your gift to the appeal this year will provide assistance for the poor, the sick, the young, the disabled, families in crisis, and many thousands more. Our appeal is an opportunity to provide for the needs of others who look to us for hope. Please reflect on the blessings you have received from God as you contemplate a gift to the Partners in Charity Appeal this year.

This weekend we will conduct the IN-PEW collection for Partners in Charity. Please put the gift/pledge envelope you received in the mail last week in with today’s offertory collection. You may also use one of the envelopes found at the end of the pews.
