CLUSTER LENTEN MISSION at ST. MARY’S CHURCH
WELCOME
GRAYSON WARREN BROWN
THE POWER OF FAITH
Sunday, March 7 7:00 pm
Monday, March 8 7:00 pm
Tuesday, March 9 7:00 pm
The week we have been waiting has arrived!
Don’t miss this year’s Lenten Mission!
You will be lifted up, renewed, and inspired by the music
and the message of this talented presenter and musician
Grayson Warren Brown is an internationally known liturgical composer, author, recording artist and speaker. He has published six collections of liturgical compositions, including "Been So Busy", "Halfway Home", and "If God Is For Us". His latest release is "Greatness and Glory Are Yours" , which includes the award winning hymn, "Come To The Water".
Grayson began his liturgical ministry in the late 1960's in a small inner-city parish in New York City. It was there that he learned how significant an authentic and spirit-filled experience of worship can be to those in need of hope. Forty years of experience working with multicultural parishes throughout the United States and abroad, have given him a unique insight into the power that good liturgy can instill in people of all races and cultures.
Grayson is now dividing his time between writing, composing, and traveling the country presenting workshops, speaking at conventions and conducting parish missions and revivals. His down-to-earth approach to liturgy and scripture, coupled with his dynamic speaking style, have made him one of the most sought after presenters in the United States today.

Grayson Mission Pick-up Choir - In preparation for the cluster mission Grayson Warren Brown has asked to put together an energetic pick-up choir that will assist him with singing joyful music that will encourage everyone to get up on their feet and sing. All are invited! This "pick-up" choir will rehearse with Grayson on Sunday, March 7, 2010 from 5:00pm (sharp) to 6:00pm in the hall of St. Mary's church.
Come and be a singing part of this years exciting mission!

The Religious education program is in need of two fairly big screened TV’s and DVD/VHS players. Do you have any you might be getting rid of? To be able to follow up lessons with a DVD on the matter is so vital to young people. If you can help us out, please call Sue Landry at 508.925.7801. GRADE 2 PARENTS: Please return your child’s job list to Sue as soon as possible. |

FINANCE REPORT
Thank-you for your ongoing support of St. Mary’s Parish
Month of February (weekly average) $15,004
Church in Latin America $1,949
HAVE YOU CONSIDERED PARISH PAY ?
Many parishioners have found that ParishPay is the best way to continue their support of St. Mary’s Parish throughout the year. Find out how ParishPay works by checking the parish website (click here) or calling the Pastoral Center. In lieu of weekly collections the ParishPay program will collect monthly contributions from your checking, savings or credit card account.
AN INVITATION TO HELP OUR NEIGHBORS
St. Mary's is joining with other churches in town and with the Shrewsbury Senior Center to reach out to older residents who need small repairs to their homes. These repairs range from replacing light bulbs and smoke detectors to installing grab bars or doorbells and helping with basic household repairs.
The Senior Center provides referrals--and volunteers provide the labor. Homeowners pay for materials. Central One Federal Credit Union has provided $2,500 to help those who cannot afford to purchase materials. We're hoping that many members of our parish community will reach out to our neighbors through this program. If you would like to help--or simply find out more, please contact Joan Fouhy at 508.842.6724 or jfouhy@aol.com.
When we act with compassion, generosity, and commitment to justice for the “least among us,” we act as the Lord’s true disciples. This appeal enables the bishops of the United States to assist people in need throughout the world. I assure you that your personal generosity to the collection is vital to our labors to extend the Church’s ministry of charity to the poor and dispossessed. The most recent example of the extraordinary efforts made by Catholic Relief Services is the response currently being made to support the people of Haiti. I take this opportunity to thank you for the $508,581 that has been raised by Catholics in the Diocese of Worcester. Our participation in offering relief to the Haitian people is part of the nearly $61 million dollars that has been raised by Catholics throughout the United States and directed to CRS. We have been receiving frequent updates on the efforts of CRS and I encourage you to learn more about their efforts on their website, www.crs.org. Beyond Haiti, the efforts of CRS continue to support development projects in more than 80 other nations. Your generosity supports a number of other important CRS-inspired agencies, including Migration and Refugee Services, the Holy Father’s Relief Fund and the Department of Social Development and World Peace. When you give to the Catholic Relief Services Collection you are assisting millions of the poor throughout the world. I am very grateful for your generosity. With every prayerful best wish, I am Sincerely yours in Christ, |

Saint Francis is remembered for his love of nature. In his Canticle of the Creatures, he reflects on the beauty of God's Creation. Part of that Canticle reads:
|
|
Brother Sun All praise be yours, my Lord, through Brothers Wind and Air, And fair and stormy, all the weather's moods, By which you cherish all that you have made. All praise be yours, my Lord, through Sister Water, So useful, humble, precious and pure. All praise be yours, my Lord, through Brother Fire, Through whom you brighten up the night. How beautiful is he, how playful! Full of power and strength. All praise be yours, my Lord, through Sister Earth, our mother, Who feeds us in her sovereignty and produces Various fruits with coloured flowers and herbs. |
