WORD FROM HAITI - We received the first email last week from Fr. Beliard, the pastor of St. Michel’s in Roche-a-Bateau, since the devastating earthquake in Port-au-Prince
Translated from Creole by Jean-Evens Dupuy
|
I am very happy to hear from you. The earthquake did not affect Roche-a-Bateau at all. It’s only the capital that has been affected. Many people who live in the capital died and also the house in the cities close to the capital collapsed. But those who are living in Les Cayes are very secure, thank God. However, the misery rises drastically because people are leaving the capital to return home, especially in Les Cayes. People keep coming to knock at the door to ask for food all the time and I am unable to respond to all their needs and hunger. Thank you so much for your support to the parish in which I am the pastor. This parish is very poor. You may understand how difficult the situation could be in Les Cayes. Fr. Beliard |

GRAYSON WARREN BROWN IS COMING TO ST. MARY’S
Sunday, March 7 At 7:00 pm
Monday, March 8 At 7:00 pm
Tuesday, March 9 At 7:00 pm
The cluster parishes of St. Anne’s, St Mary’s and St. Mary of the Hills invites you to join us for this year’s “NOT YOUR ORDINARY LENTEN MISSION” with Grayson Warren Brown. Grayson came to St. Mary’s more than ten years ago and the church was filled to capacity each night as people came to hear his music and his preaching. Don’t miss out!
Grayson believes that a good parish mission can truly “stir into flame” the spirit that Paul talks about in his letter to Timothy. Thus he brings an enthusiasm and spirit to the missions that have made them popular throughout North American. Conducting over twenty a year, Grayson’s parish missions are filled with song, laughter, prayer and most of all a deep understanding of the gospel message of Jesus.

Useful Information on Climate Change. The issue of climate change continues to be in the news. What is climate change? What is "cap and trade"? When government officials talk about the science and solutions, where can people go for detailed information? A useful resource on the internet is the US EPA's website. It includes practical information, questions and answers, publications and suggestions for things we can all do to save energy and reduce the amount of emissions going into the atmosphere. This information can be found at http://epa.gov/climatechange/ |
