COLLECTION FOR CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY

Today’s second collection will be taken for the support of the Catholic University of America. Although CUA is a university that is in some ways similar to many of the Catholic colleges and universities throughout the United States, it also has a unique and special role to play in the mission of the Catholic Church in our country. Through its programs, many of the educators and professionals who directly assist the Bishops of the United States receive their ongoing spiritual and academic formation there. CUA is noted for its fine programs in religious Education, Social Work, Liturgical and Biblical studies, Theology and Canon Law – all of which make a direct contribution to strengthening the ministries that are so important to our Church. Thank-you for your support.

ECO-JUSTICE MINISTRY

According to the Catholic Free Press, Pope Benedict’s World Peace Day message discusses the need to think about our environment: “It is becoming more and more evident that the issue of environmental degradation challenges us to examine our lifestyle and the prevailing models of consumption and production, which are often unsustainable from a social, environmental and even economic point of view….Protecting the natural environment in order to build a world of peace is thus a duty incumbent on each and all. It is an urgent challenge, one to be faced with renewed and concerted commitment; it is also a providential opportunity to hand down to coming generations the prospect of a better future for all.”

To the congregation,

On behalf of St. Anne’s Human Services, please accept our grateful thanks for the food donations we received from your parishioners at your Thanksgiving Mass. This contribution makes it possible to serve our many clients, especially in these difficult economic times. The cooperation of churches, schools, civic organizations, clubs and individual donations make our job easier. Your congregations’ generous gifts aid us in our mission to assist those in need.

Thank you all so very much for helping us to help others.

Love and peace,
Elaine LeBlanc, Director

Dear St. Mary Parishioners,

We are once again well prepared thanks to your generous help this Christmas. The children you have chosen to help, made a special day even more special. It is hard to imagine so many of our neighbors are un-employed, under-employed, sick or struggling. Let us all Pray for a New Year filled with hope, health, and prosperity. Together we have taken the first step. God Bless.

Love and peace,
Elaine LeBlanc, Director
