CHILDREN’S LITURGY
|
|
Do you want to share your faith with the children of the parish? Is a weekly commitment too much to give? Then join us as a leader for Children’s Liturgy of the Word at the 9am Sunday Mass. Leaders are typically scheduled 8-9 times a year. Materials and training are provided. Please contact Ann Benbenek 508.842.9651 or annbenbenek@yahoo.com for more information. Not sure if this is for you? Come by and see what we do! CLotW is held every Sunday except the first Sunday of the month. |

With construction well underway we are already benefiting from our parish expansion project. The summer heat was no longer a challenge for our worshipping community with air conditioning, and we should enjoy a warmer more efficient winter with the new boilers that are almost ready to go. The expanded parking lot has already proven to be a great asset. With the cement foundations and floor poured for the new addition, you will soon see the steel structure rising. If the winter doesn’t come too soon, the building should be fully enclosed before the first snowfall.
We are encouraged with our building project and grateful to all those parishioners who have made a gift/pledge to the capital campaign. As the construction continues, so does our capital campaign. At the end of the fiscal year on August 31, 2009 we had a total of:
486 pledges
130 additional gifts
$3,675,000 raised
The capital campaign continues because we need to raise an addition $1.4 million. If you have not made a pledge to the campaign, please consider doing so during the month of October. Pledge envelopes can be found with the bulletins in the vestibule of the church.

ECO-JUSTICE
According to thegreenteam.org, Americans throw away enough plastic bottles each year to circle the earth four times. Think about the energy, production and transportation costs to make all of these bottles, and the costs of having to dispose of them! Consider alternatives to disposable bottles such as re-usable containers. And if you use these bottles, please recycle them. For more information on recycling in our Town, please visit www.shrewsbury-ma.gov; click on “About Shrewsbury” and follow the link to “Green Shrewsbury”.
