ADULT CHOIR

St. Mary’s Adult choir will begin its new fall season by returning to the 11:00am on Sunday mornings starting September 27, 2008.

We here at St. Mary’s Church are extremely fortunate to have such a dedicated, talented and committed choir. The choir which includes about 25 singers who meet each Sunday morning at 9:00am for a 1 ½ hour rehearsal and then contributes spiritual music at the 11:00am Masses throughout the church year. (September through May)

Like many other ministries offered here at St. Mary’s church, St. Mary’s Adult Choir always welcomes new members. It's a wonderful opportunity and experience to enjoy the singing of liturgical music with fellow singers and parish members. If you any questions or have an interest in joining the choir please contact Rick Vacca @ 508.753.0230 ( rpav21@gmail.com ) or Marti Page, @ 508.835.3470 (martipage127@charter.net) or visit the choir loft after any of the 11:00am Sunday mass – better yet speak with another choir member

STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT
September 12/13, 2009 - Twenty-fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time

St. James asks what our love for Jesus Christ can possibly mean if it does not result in action on behalf of our neighbor. He suggests that that faith is demonstrated most acutely in care for the needy, the suffering, and the underprivileged. Stewardship includes proclaiming the Good News by putting our faith into action on behalf of others. In what ways have we been willing to make sacrifices and renunciations for the sake of Jesus Christ and our neighbor?

SOCIAL JUSTICE MINISTRY

First social justice ministry meeting of the 2009-2010 year: Tuesday, September 22, from 7:15 to 8:15 in the Parish Hall

Have you ever wondered what this ministry is all about? If so, this is a great opportunity to learn about the events planned by our parish's new Eco-ministry, hear about the first six months of cooking and sharing meals and conversation with former prisoners at Dismas House, prepare for our October furniture drive to help families recovering from a fire or emerging from homelessness, get reports on the Item of the Month Drive, Share the Bounty, Heifer Project International, and new ways of helping our sister parish in Haiti. We'll also get a preview of our December benefit concert. And we'll hear about Evan and Marti Page's plans to travel to Sri Lanka in January to see the 40 houses built with our help after the tsunami and explore ways to support the efforts of the religious women whose work gives young victims of human trafficking a fresh start. Our thanks to everyone in our parish community for your support of this ministry. If you'd like to get involved--or simply learn more about this ministry, we hope you'll join us.
