Celebrating Together, Building Our Community!

5K ROAD RACE AND FITNESS WALK

What do Barry Phelps and Lisa Danielson have in common? They won the St. Mary Festival 5K last year in the men’s and women’s divisions respectively! And St. Mary’s was well represented as our own Jim Hughes and Paula Curran-Hayeck placed second and third in the men’s and women’s divisions respectively. Who will challenge these mighty athletes this year? How about you?!

Last year, over 120 runners and walkers participated in the 5K Race and Fitness Walk. And 40 kids participated in the Kids Fun Run. For the adults it’s a great 5K course with rolling hills and scenic neighborhoods of Shrewsbury. This is a great family event and joins the Family Festival right at the Finish Line. So get out your running shoes and join us this year for some fun and some fitness. To register, visit the St. Mary website here for an application, or register online at Active.com. T-shirts to all registered runners! Hurry – the field is filling up fast!!

GRAND RAFFLE

In the spirit of the parish expansion plans, the Family Festival Committee is also building on the traditions of St. Mary by once again offering a new and improved Grand Raffle. This year you can double your chances of winning and it won’t cost you any more than last year. That’s right – two Grand Raffle Tickets for $100! Or if you prefer, one ticket for $75. Either way, it’s quite a bargain and a great way to put $15,000 in your pocket. And back by popular demand is the same fantastic second prize – four box seats to the Red Sox/Indians game on October 4th and four premium seats to the Patriots/Jets game on November 22nd!

To purchase your tickets, please visit the parish website here. Tickets may also be purchased from the Raffle committee after selected Masses.

Thanks for supporting St. Mary Parish and School.

The Share the Bounty basket is placed in the back of the church to accept parishioner contributions of vegetables-- home grown, farm stand or store bought, all are gladly appreciated and are brought to the Worcester County Food Bank on Monday mornings for distribution to those less fortunate in our community.
