HOSPITAL VISITS AND COMMUNION CALLS

Fr. Mike and Fr. Adam make regular visits to the UMass –Memorial and St. Vincent Hospitals each week to visit parishioners who are patients there. Because of patient privacy laws, they do not always know if a parishioner has been hospitalized. Please call the pastoral center to let us know if a family member or neighbor has been hospitalized or is a patient in a local rehabilitation and nursing center. If you are confined to your home due to illness or age, please call us at the pastoral center so that the priests and Vi Jefferson, our parish nurse, may visit you with communion.

A STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT
July 25/26 - Seventeenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

The story of the multiplication of the loaves and the fishes is a familiar one, and has many lessons, not least of which is how our willingness to share who we are and what we have – exercising good stewardship – releases God’s power and bountifulness on the world and its people. Do we realize that there is enough for all if we are willing to share? Are we aware that God is at work when we share out time, our money and our other resources in His name?

Celebrating Together, Building Our Community!

With the church expansion plans in full swing, you may be wondering if and how we’re going to have a Festival this year. Actually, that thought has crossed the minds of the Festival Committee as well. But not to fear, we are hard at work, making plans and being creative. We have embraced the parish’s building theme as our own and plan to make this year’s celebration one that Builds Our Community!

So Save the Date – September 18, 19 and 20 – and be part of the St. Mary Family Festival tradition. Consider volunteering, buying a raffle ticket, or stopping by and sharing good times with family, friends and neighbors.

This year the Family Festival Committee is excited to offer Grand Raffle tickets at a reduced price of $75. Or if you would like to double your chances of winning $15,000, you can buy two tickets for $100 (when purchased together). And back by popular demand is the same fantastic second prize – four box seats to the Red Sox/Indians game on October 4th and four premium seats to the Patriots/Jets game on November 22nd!

To purchase your tickets, please click here. Tickets may also be purchased from the Raffle committee after selected Masses. Thanks for supporting St. Mary Parish and School.

Thank You Raffle Sponsor!!

Item of the Month

This month our Items of the Month are Condiments: Ketchup, Mustard, or Relish. (No glass jars, please.) Our goal is to collect 200 condiments in order to add one to each food bag that is distributed to needy families in Shrewsbury. If you are having a summer cook-out, please think of us and pick up an extra condiment! Thank you!

Work in faith ...
Labor in love ...
Endure in hope!

Every year during the quieter weeks of summer we usually reach our goal for the annual Partners in Charity Appeal. While there is still plenty of summer left, we would like to encourage those who have yet to make a gift or pledge to please do so in the coming weeks. We have now reached 90% of our goal and this is encouraging, but we still have a way to go before reaching our formidable parish goal of $175,000.

St. Mary’s Goal $175,000
Amount Raised in Pledges/Gifts $160,764
Number of Gifts. 455

Envelopes for your gift/pledge can be found at the entrances of the church and on the window sills. You may place them in the collection basket today or mail to the pastoral center during the week. Please be sure to check with your employer about a Matching Gift and attach the form to your pledge card.
