As we approach the middle weeks of summer we are still seeking additional pledges to our parish capital campaign. Pledge envelopes can be found at the entrances of the church. As you can see by a quick look behind the church, we are making progress. The air conditioning units have now been installed and will soon be ready for operation. The new boilers have been installed and will be ready well before the heating season. Site work continues for the new parking lot and addition. Let us continue to pray for the success of Our Enduring Covenant so that our parish community may continue to grow in its life and ministries.

A STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT
July 18/19
Sixteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

The Letter to the Ephesians reminds us that Christ is creating a new world order: one that brings about relationships based on love, peace, reconciliation, hope and unity. As a Eucharistic community, we are stewards of Christ’s new creation. How are we promoting peace and reconciliation? How are we showing love for our neighbors? What are we doing to encourage unity and understanding among those with whom we gather around the Lord’s Table each week?

CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD

Children’s Liturgy of the Word will continue throughout the summer months during the 9:00 am Mass with the exception of Sunday, August 2nd. Children will be sent forth from the assembly after the opening prayer and will listen to the Scripture readings from the Children’s Lectionary. During the summer months there will only be two groups – one for children entering the second grade and older and the other for children entering the 1st grade and younger. The older group will meet in the parish hall and the younger group will meet outside.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION ON FRIDAY

Exposition and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is held every Friday from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm in St. Theresa’s Chapel in the Pastoral Center. Parishioners are invited and encouraged to come and spend some time in prayer and adoration before the Eucharist, praying not only for their own personal needs but also for the needs of our parish community. Click here for more information,

ST. MARY’S ROSARY GROUP

Join a small group of parishioners every Monday evening at 7:30 pm in the pastoral center chapel to pray the rosary for our church, priests, families and any special intentions you have. FOOD COLLECTION
Simple Gestures ... great results

A collection basket can be found in the front vestibule of the church to receive your donations of non-perishable goods during the summer months along with the basket for the “item of the month”. Our donations will be for the benefit of St. Anne’s Food pantry. Please remember those in need at a time of year when it is so easy to forget.

Item of the Month Update

We would like to thank the parishioners of St. Mary's for generously donating 242 toothbrushes and 164 tubes of toothpaste. These items were graciously accepted by St. Anne's and will be added to this month's food bags. This month our Items of the Month are Condiments: Ketchup, Mustard, or Relish. (No glass jars, please.) Our goal is to collect 200 condiments in order to add one to each food bag that is distributed to needy families in Shrewsbury. If you are having a summer cook-out, please think of us and pick up an extra condiment! Thank you!

Work in faith ...
Labor in love ...
Endure in hope!

Every year during the quieter weeks of summer we usually reach our goal for the annual Partners in Charity Appeal. While there is still plenty of summer left, we would like to encourage those who have yet to make a gift or pledge to please do so in the coming weeks. We have now reached 90% of our goal and this is encouraging, but we still have a way to go before reaching our formidable parish goal of $175,000.

Envelopes for your gift/pledge can be found at the entrances of the church and on the window sills. You may place them in the collection basket today or mail to the pastoral center during the week. Please be sure to check with your employer about a Matching Gift and attach the form to your pledge card.
