Copies of the annual report for the Diocese of Worcester and the financial statement for 2008 can be found with the bulletins this weekend. Please take a copy home with you so that you can be informed about the varied ministries that take place in our diocese and the stewardship of the funds entrusted to our local church.

OUR ENDURING COVENANT - ST. MARY’S CAPITAL CAMPAIGN

This past week we met once again with the Diocesan Expansion Fund (DEF) Board to continue our presentation on our building expansion and renovation project and our fundraising efforts. We are seeking a line of credit from the diocese so that we may begin construction later this spring.

THANK-YOU to all those parishioners who have made their pledge to St. Mary’s Capital Campaign and are making payments on their pledges. As we move forward, we encourage parishioners who have not made their pledge to please do so. Visit the parish website (www.stmarysparish.org) for an update on our construction plans. Pledge envelopes are available in the sacristy as well as the pastoral center. Thank-you for your ongoing support of Our Enduring Covenant.

FINANCE REPORT

Thank-you for your ongoing support of St. Mary’s Parish

Month of January (weekly average) $15,302
Catholic University $2,351
Catholic Home Missions $2,113

HAVE YOU CONSIDERED PARISH PAY ?

Many parishioners have found that ParishPay is the best way to continue their support of St. Mary’s Parish throughout the year. Find out how ParishPay works - click here - or by calling the Pastoral Center. In lieu of weekly collections the ParishPay program will collect monthly contributions from your checking, savings or credit card account.

STEWARDSHIP THOUGHTS
Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time • February 8, 2009

In today’s Gospel we hear of a great number of suffering people seeking the healing touch of Jesus. He could not respond to them all. But the Gospel also reveals Jesus, after praying in solitude, sensing an urgency to proclaim the Good News of his Father’s redemptive love to those who suffer in the nearby villages and towns. Stewards are called to follow in Jesus’ footsteps, to respond to those who suffer with compassion. How are we responding to the suffering in our world? How are we using our gifts to continue the works of Christ’s redemptive healing?
