THANK-YOU for your continued and generous support for Our Enduring Covenant. A special thanks to all those parishioners who made their pledge during the year of 2008. As we look forward to this new year and groundbreaking in June, we encourage those parishioners who have not had the opportunity to do so, to please make their pledge to our capital campaign. Pledge brochures and envelopes are available in the sacristy and at the pastoral center. Two important meetings will take place this coming week as our plans take shape and construction schedules are set. On Tuesday we will meet with the Diocesan Building Commission to present the final plans for the phase of construction and renovation that will begin in June. The following day we will present our plans to the Board of the Diocesan Expansion Fund regarding loans and funding for the construction period. Please keep Our Enduring Covenant in your prayers as we continue to move forward.
THANK - YOU to the Parishioners of St. Rose of Lima Parish
We are most grateful to the Parishioners of St. Rose of Lima for their thoughtfulness and generosity to “Our Enduring Covenant”

Dear Michael, Congratulations on the St. Mary expansion plan and the vision to prepare for the future; a future “full of hope” as Jeremiah said! Your neighbors at St. Rose of Lima want to show support and encouragement by praying for the success of such an awesome plan and by offering the enclosed tithe of $2,000. Our Stewardship efforts always enable us to be grateful for our own gifts and honored to be able to participate in the hopes and dreams of others. The St. Mary’s project is very enthusiastic and enthusiasm is always contagious. Christ’s Peace! Sincerely in Christ, |

THE FEAST OF THE EPIPHANY OF THE LORD
BLESSING OF A HOME
Holy God,
before he was born, a star showed
the place of our Savior’s birth.
At his baptism in the Jordan,
you revealed Jesus to be your beloved Son.
And at the wedding feast of Cana,
his power was manifest in a miracle.
On this solemnity of Epiphany,
we ask you to bless our home.
Let its shelter from cold and night
show us your protection and care.
May we see you everywhere revealed
in family and friends, guests and strangers,
in all who come to our door and share our meal.
Fill our home with sings of your presence,
with joy, laughter, and peace.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
As the national university of the Catholic Church in the United States, founded and sponsored by the bishops of the country with the approval of the Holy See, CUA is committed to being a comprehensive Catholic and American institution of higher learning, faithful to the teachings of Jesus Christ as handed on by the Church. Dedicated to advancing the dialogue between faith and reason, the university seeks to discover and impart the truth through excellence in teaching and research, all in service to the Church, the nation and the world. CUA has unique responsibilities to be of service to Christian thought and education in the Catholic community as well as to serve the nation and the world. Through its programs, many of the educators and professionals who directly assist the Bishops of the United States receive their ongoing spiritual and academic formation there. Its fine programs in canon law, religious education, social work, liturgical and biblical studies, and theology all make a direct contribution to strengthening the ministries that are so important to our Church. Though many of us have been educated elsewhere, we are all beneficiaries of the excellence of CUA. This year thousands of high school seniors from parishes across the country were offered and guaranteed annually renewable $3,000 parish scholarships as well. Over 60 percent of incoming freshmen are now recipients of parish scholarships. Asking for your generous support for this collection and with every prayerful best wish, I remain Sincerely yours in Christ, |
