THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE
THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE is a powerful movie from Grassroots Films Production. Worcester Pre-Screenings:
Wednesday, November 19 4:30 and 8:30 pm
Assumption College - Hagan Campus Center Hall
Open to Assumption College Community and general Public at no charge.
THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE is the story of a band of brothers who travel the world in search of the answers to the burning questions: Who am I? Who is Man? Why do we search for meaning? Their journey brings them into the middle of the lives of the homeless on the streets of new York City, the orphans and disabled children of Peru, and the abandoned lepers in the forests of Ghana, Africa. What the young men discover changes them forever. Through one on one interviews and real life encounters, the brothers are awakened to the beauty of the human person and the resilience of the human spirit.

HAITIAN APOSTOLATE MINSITRY
DIOCESE OF WORCESTER AND ST. MARY’S PARISH
The late summer hurricanes that battered Haiti caused huge crop loss in a country already suffering from a food crisis from the global rises in the price of commodities. The people of Haiti had hoped that the dramatic increase in food prices would be offset by a good harvest. That harvest has been largely destroyed. Estimates of crop losses are as high as 80 percent in the most heavily hit sections of Haiti, especially in Les Cayes. Another crop has now been planed with the hope that is makes it through the season. The people of Haiti are brave and resilient, but they are counting on our prayers and assistance to help them find life again.
ST. MARY’S HAITIAN APOSTOLATE
Today we welcome Sister Marie Judith Dupuy, S.S.A. to St. Mary’s Parish. Sr. Judith is the Director of the Diocese of Worcester Haitian Apostolate and has just returned from a visit to Haiti. She will give us an update on our twinning relationship with St. Michels’ in Roche-a-Bateau, Haiti and inform us on the impact of the recent hurricanes that have hit the island. Please join Sr. Judith for coffee following the 7:30 and 9:00 Sunday Masses. Members of the St. Mary’s Haiti Committee will also be seeking your continued support for our monthly commitment of $800 to St. Michel’s.
SOS PRAYERS FOR HAITI
All are invited to join the Haitian Apostolate Ministry of the Diocese of Worcester and the parishes who have twinned with a parish or school in Haiti to join together in solidarity and prayer
SOS PRAYERS FOR HAITI
St. Mary’s Church, Shrewsbury
Saturday, November 15, 2008 - 9:00 am 12:00 noon
You may join us at whatever time is convenient for you. Bishop Robert McManus will celebrate Mass at 11:00 am. The Haitian community in the Boston area have been invited to join in this time of prayer. Thank-you for your ongoing care and support for the people of Haiti.

STEWARDSHIP AT ST. MARY’S
Today’s feast honors the cathedral church of Rome, the place where popes once lived. Translated, the inscription on its walls reads: “The mother and head of all churches of Rome and the world.” Our Church is built of “loving stones”: made up of women and men, each endowed by God with an abundance of gifts and charged with exercising good stewardship of these gifts. When we celebrate the dedication of the Lateran Basilica, mother of all churches, symbol of our being “one, holy, Catholic and apostolic”, we celebrate the people of God, “God’s temple with whom the Holy Spirit dwells” (1Cor3:16).
The Stewardship Committee looks forward to a special Stewardship opportunity that will be announced at the Masses on the weekend of November 15/16 as we listen to the gospel story of the Parable of the Talents. See the posters in the vestibule of the church. Come and accept the challenge to live out the Parable of the Talents.
