Volunteers Fill Important Role in C.C.D.
By Sue Landry
I would like to express my gratitude to the wonderful parents who take the hand of a child and lead them on their journey to Jesus. Iím delighted to be here in this parish. People are so giving, especially the volunteers who come forward.
Iíd like to mention two people in particular: Thea Brazeau and Kay Canney. Thea was the first one to call me when I advertised a year or so ago for volunteers to help on C.C.D days. She has helped me for months and months and especially in the summer to start to get ready for C.C.D. She has collated pages and pages for catechist training and collated pages of the love letters to Jesus. She has filled studentsí buckets (containers with learning materials) and cleaned up the C.C.D room, so I can be free to prepare lessons.
I donít know what I would have done without her. She has been a wonderful help
I also donít know what I would do without Kay Canney. Kay is secretary for third and fourth grade C.C.Ds. In addition, Kay fills in registration forms for me. Last year, Kay was responsible for recruiting seamstresses to make stoles for the Reconciliation Class.
They do so many different jobs, each one of which is a big help.
