Students Visit Old Sturbridge Village

On April 2, fifth grade students of St. Mary's School traveled back in time to the 1800s on their visit to Old Sturbridge Village. Students began the day with a hands-on activity. The woodworking group made spaddles, the cooking group made jumbles (a cinnamon cookie), and the textile group tried weaving using different types of looms. Students then toured the village and interviewed a "villager" to learn how adults, teenagers and children contributed to the support of their family.
